“There is a universal truth we all have to face, whether we want to or not, everything eventually ends. As much as I’ve looked forward to this day, I’ve always disliked endings. Last day of summer, the final chapter of a great book, parting ways with a close friend. But endings are inevitable. Leaves fall. You close the book. You say goodbye. Today is one of those days for us. Today we say goodbye to everything that was familiar, everything that was comfortable. We’re moving on. But just because we’re leaving, and that hurts, there’s some people who are so much a part of us, they’ll be with us no matter what. They are our solid ground. Our North Star. And the small clear voices in our hearts that will be with us, always.” — Alexis’ Graduation Speech, Castle (via quote-book)

Happy Mother’s Day

To all the mothers out there,

I don’t know how you do it. How you put up with our irrational and irritating behavior, our messy habits, our mood swings, our wants and needs… how do you guys manage to cover all the bases?! Just this past year I’ve only caught a GLIMPSE (which means at most 20 hours a week with a <1 year old) of what it means and takes to be a mother and I honestly don’t understand. Mothers are superhuman. Working mothers are crazy. Seriously though, thank you mom for everything you put up with. Even though I’m 21 now I still have my little kid fits, have my unreasonable arguments, and sometimes no common sense. YET you still love me. So thanks for making sure I’m always okay, keeping me in line when I’m not, and pushing me to become something better. I LOVE YOU.
